One of Van Goghs most striking talents is his use of color, which is something that this mosaic renders to perfection. The painting replicated by this vitreous enamel mosaic is one of the 130 works he completed in Saint Rmy during his recovery. The smalto filato technique allows for a greater level of detail and lends itself well to the undulating patterns characterizing Van Goghs paintings.
